Coach Hire Wexford

Most coach days out of Wexford are short hops: Johnstown Castle, Curracloe and Enniscorthy all sit within about 25 minutes of the Quay. The legs that need planning are the long ones, to Dublin Airport, to the ferries at Rosslare and out to the Hook.

Getting your group to Wexford

Dublin Airport is the usual gateway, about 150 km away and roughly two hours on the M11 and N11. Send the flight number and landing time rather than a pickup time, and the operator works back from there. Cork Airport is the other option.

Rosslare Europort, with sailings to Wales and France, is about 20 km south of the town. If a coach is meeting a ferry, send the sailing and its scheduled arrival.

Visits a few minutes from town

Johnstown Castle, with its gardens and the Irish Agricultural Museum, is about 7 km south-west, around 15 minutes. Curracloe Beach is about 12 km north and takes about the same. The Irish National Heritage Park is at Ferrycarrig, one of the hotel areas.

Enniscorthy, about 25 minutes up the road, has the castle and the National 1798 Rebellion Centre: a morning out, back for lunch.

Coach rules and practicalities in Wexford

  • Dublin Airport is about 150 km (about 2 h) via the M11/N11.
  • Rosslare Europort (ferries to Wales and France) is about 20 km south of Wexford town.
  • Coach operators need Wexford County Council approval to use an existing or proposed bus/coach stop for a regular service.

New Ross and the Hook Peninsula

The Dunbrody Famine Ship, a replica emigrant ship at New Ross, is about 40 km and 40 minutes away. Hook Lighthouse, a medieval lighthouse still in working use, is about 50 km, roughly an hour. The two make a comfortable loop in one day. Tell us the order and where you plan to eat so the operator can fit the driver's breaks around the stops.

Coach parking at each attraction is not something we publish; the operator checks it against your list of stops.

Opera evenings, match days and repeat runs

The National Opera House, home of Wexford Festival Opera, hosts concerts and theatre through the year. For an evening show, agree a collection time after the final curtain, and say if the same coach worked a day trip that morning.

Chadwicks Wexford Park is the county ground for hurling and football fixtures. If your group travels on a repeating timetable, such as a weekly school or staff run from the same stop, mention it: Wexford County Council approval is needed before an operator uses a bus or coach stop for a regular service.

Yes. New Ross is about 40 minutes away and the lighthouse about an hour.

We run a weekly trip from the same stop. Is there anything extra?

Possibly. Using a bus or coach stop for a regular service needs county council approval, so describe the pattern when you ask for a quote.
