Coach Hire Letterkenny

Letterkenny is the working base for a Donegal trip. The coast and the big landscapes are a long way out, so the first planning question is how much of each day the group wants to spend on the road.

Flying in: Carrickfinn, Knock or Dublin

Donegal Airport at Carrickfinn is about 45 minutes by road. Dublin Airport is about 240 km, around 3 hours, and Ireland West Airport Knock is the other option. A three-hour transfer with a flight delay on top can use up much of a driver's day, so send flight times before anything else; they decide how the transfer is planned.

Glenveagh: coach to the visitor centre, shuttle to the castle

Glenveagh National Park is about 25 km, roughly 30 minutes. Coaches and cars stop at the visitor centre car park and no private vehicle goes further; visitors reach the castle on the park shuttle bus. Group arrangements are booked online, so reserve before you fix coach times and allow for the shuttle in both directions.

Inishowen, Malin Head and Derry

Grianán of Aileach, the stone ring fort on Inishowen, is about 25 km and 25 minutes away. Malin Head, Ireland's most northerly point on the Wild Atlantic Way, is about 75 km, around 1 hour 15 minutes. The two sit well together on an Inishowen day.

Derry, over the border in Northern Ireland, is about 35 km, around 35 minutes, and suits a half-day or a full day. Tell us if the route crosses the border so the operator has the full picture.

Slieve League is a full day

The Slieve League sea cliffs in south-west Donegal are about 100 km, roughly 1 hour 45 minutes each way. That is three and a half hours of driving before any stops. Treat it as a full day with a fixed return time, keep extra stops close to the route, and say whether you want an evening meal before heading back. The operator plans breaks and legal driving hours around the whole route.

In the town

St Eunan's Cathedral, An Grianán Theatre and O'Donnell Park, where St Eunan's GAA and Donegal county football matches are played, are the main in-town venues for groups. We do not publish coach parking for them, so the operator will confirm set-down and parking for each address you give.
