Cruise Port Transfers and Shore Days
This section covers two cruise ports: Dublin Port and Cobh, part of the Port of Cork. Choose one for pickup arrangements and how far the usual excursions run.
Dublin: the ship is in the port, the sights are not
Ships dock at Dublin Port, and most of what passengers come to see is across the city. Cruise shuttle buses set down and pick up at Merrion Square South. The Dublin Port Tunnel is toll-free for coaches with more than 25 seats, which suits a run north towards the airport or the motorway.
Cobh: about 24 km from Cork city
Ships berth at Cobh, 25 to 30 minutes by road from Cork. Blarney, Midleton and Kinsale are each within about half an hour of the city. Killarney is about 1.5 hours beyond Cork, so a Kerry day from a Cobh call is tight. Build the return around the all-aboard time, not the sightseeing.
Questions
What should I send for a cruise transfer?
The ship name, the date of the call, the arrival and all-aboard times, the passenger count and where you want to go.
Can I book a shore day as well as a transfer?
Yes. The vehicle and driver are booked for the hours you need. Guides and entry tickets are separate unless the quote says otherwise.
Are other Irish ports covered?
Not with their own page. Ask if your ship calls elsewhere in the Republic.
