Kerry Airport is at Farranfore, between Killarney and Tralee. Coaches load at the bus terminus outside the main terminal, and the drive to either town is short.
A bus terminus by the door
Coach and bus services use the bus terminus directly outside the main terminal building. The walk with luggage is short, which suits older travellers and golfers with heavy bags, and with one passenger terminal there is no question of which door to use.
Farranfore railway station is 1.4 km from the terminal. If part of the group arrives by train, ask for a station stop on the same run.
Killarney, Tralee and the Kerry roads
Killarney is about 15 minutes away and Tralee about 17. In Killarney, the laybys on East Avenue are for bus set-down only, and Kerry County Council monitors the town-centre bus parking spaces. Hotels are in the town centre, along Muckross Road, on Park Road and East Avenue, and out towards Fossa on the Killorglin road.
The big Kerry days are long. The full Ring of Kerry loop is about 180 km and a full day with stops, and Dingle is about 1.25 h from Killarney. Muckross House has separate coach parking, but every group must reserve in advance. On narrow roads, a midi coach handles better than a 12-14 m coach.

Flying into Cork or Shannon instead
Kerry Airport is the nearest airport for Killarney and Tralee, while Cork and Limerick are about an hour and a half away by road. Some groups fly into Cork or Shannon for more flight choice; Cork Airport is about 1.5 h from Killarney. That longer transfer eats into a driver's daily limit of 9 hours at the wheel, extendable to 10 twice a week, so plan the first day's touring around it.
Delays, diversions and golf bags
Send flight numbers. If a flight is cancelled and the group is rerouted through Cork or Shannon, the pick-up moves with it, so tell the operator the new plan as soon as you have it.
A set of clubs takes far more space than a suitcase. A minibus's rear compartment fills quickly, so for a golf group of a dozen or more a midi coach or full-size coach with underfloor bays is usually the better choice.
